Five sites from around the country have been identified to host the Regional Qualifiers for the Warrior World Series of Youth Lacrosse presented by The Coca-Cola Company

Timonium, MD – On Monday, Ray Schulmeyer, President of the Warrior World Series of Youth Lacrosse, announced the five sites that will host Regional Qualifiers for the Championship Event to be held July 2-4, 2016 in Denver, CO.  The country will be divided into five regions (North, South, East, West and Midwest) and each region will host a qualifier.  The qualifiers will be held during the month of April 2016.  Multiple teams from each qualifier will advance to Denver.

“We have created the most fair and transparent method to identify the best teams in the country” states Schulmeyer.  “Any U13 boys team meeting the eligibility requirements will have an opportunity to advance, including rec teams, town teams and club teams.  This format will provide all teams an opportunity to play the best teams in their region. A successful weekend for any of these great teams could result in a trip to Denver.  Space is limited at each event.  We recommend that teams register as soon as possible.”

The locations and dates of the Regional Qualifiers are listed below:

  • North – Worcester, Mass; April 2-3, 2016
  • East – Cedar Lane Regional Park, Bel Air, MD; April 9-10, 2016
  • South – Mecklenburg County Sportsplex, Charlotte, NC; April 9-10, 2016
  • West – Orange County Great Park, Irvine, CA; April 2-3, 2016
  • Midwest –Voice of America MetroPark, West Chester, OH; April 16-17, 2016

Teams will be required to participate in the Qualifying Event that correlates with the location of their state.  All teams will play games on Saturday and Sunday with each Qualifier identifying a Regional Champion on Sunday afternoon.  The Regional Champion, as well as other top teams from the Region Qualifier, will move on to Denver.

“It is only appropriate that we have partnered with the top facilities for our Regional Qualifiers” says World Series of Youth Lacrosse Founder, Jake Steinfeld.  “Participating in the World Series will be the ultimate experience for all youth lacrosse players and their families.  Players will have a fantastic journey from the first game of the Regional Qualifier through the Championship Game that will be played at Sports Authority Field at Mile High on July 4, 2016 and broadcast to over 100 million homes live on ESPN2.”

In addition to competing against the top teams in their region, all teams in the Regional Qualifier will experience the unique feel and excitement of participating in the Warrior World Series of Youth Lacrosse presented by the Coca-Cola Company.  A World Series Avenue™ will be present at each Qualifier and it will include interactive games, music, food, limited edition World Series gear, pin trading, sponsor giveaways and other fun entertainment for the whole family.  Each player participating will receive a commemorative World Series pin unique to his qualifier.  Teams will be encouraged to bring their own team pins to trade with players on other teams and continue the camaraderie that began at the Inaugural World Series in 2015.

More information on the Regional Qualifiers, including the states in each region, directions and registration information can be found at www.worldseriesofyouthlacrosse.com.  Teams advancing through the Regional Qualifiers will compete against each other and select international teams that will be participating in the Championship Event.
