During the spring of 2017, the nation’s top U13 Boys lacrosse teams competed in one of five Regional Qualifiers, with the top teams from each region securing an invitation to Denver, CO for the Championship Series.
Held over July 4th weekend, the Championship Series featured the 24 best U13 teams in the world. The talented and diverse teams, represented 12 states, and included several international teams, including Team Israel, Team Iroquois, and Evolve and Edge from Canada.
Preliminary games took place at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park on July 2-4, 2017. The top two teams from each of the four brackets, for a total of 8 teams, advanced to the playoffs to compete for the Warrior World Series of Youth Lacrosse title in the Championship Game at Sports Authority Field at Mile High.
On July 3rd, players, parents, families and friends attended the Midas World Series of Youth Lacrosse Banquet on the Club Level of Sports Authority Field. The event featured autograph sessions, music, photo booths, giveaways and a special guest speaker.
On the morning of July 4th, after tough semifinal games, Long Island Express and Prime Time, both from New York, advanced to the Championship Game. The festivities opened with a ceremonial procession featuring all 24 teams. The Championship Game was broadcast live on ESPN2 and viewed by hundreds of thousands of fans.
