World Series Championship played at Sports Authority Field at Mile High Stadium in Denver, CO Broadcast LIVE on ESPN2 Tuesday, July 4, 2017 at 6:00pm ET/4:00pm MT.
Denver, CO – The Warrior World Series of Youth Lacrosse 3 Championship Game Presented by The Coca-Cola Company and Nissan is coming to Denver, Colorado. The ultimate experience in youth lacrosse takes place over three days from July 2-4 with intense competition played out at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park followed by the Championship game at 6:00pm ET/4:00pm MT on July 4, 2017 at Sports Authority Field at Mile High Stadium, home of the MLL’s Denver Outlaws and the NFL’s Denver Broncos. ESPN2 will be broadcasting the game live.
“The goal when I founded the WSYL was to create the pinnacle of youth lacrosse!” said Founder, Jake Steinfeld. “Here in Denver, ‘THE NEW MECCA of LACROSSE’, players, families, and friends will experience exciting moments like the opening ceremonies, the skills competition, the games themselves, our incredible banquet, our Olympic style on-field procession of teams, and, of course, the World Series Championship Game which will be viewed around the world LIVE on ESPN2. And if that’s not insane enough, you’ll get to enjoy the World Champion Denver Outlaws of Major League Lacrosse play the Atlanta Blaze, followed by the greatest Fourth of July Fireworks display on the planet. These are memories that will last a lifetime!”
Regional qualifiers have been played out over the past six months and the teams competing in Denver represent the best teams from around the country. In addition, top international teams from Canada, Israel, and the Iroquois Nation were invited to the championship series.
ESPN2 will broadcast the game live with the professional team of Joe Beninati and Quint Kessenich calling the game. Joe and Quint have been at the mic for some of the highest profile lacrosse games in the world and the WSYL Championship game enhances that portfolio “The World Series of Youth Lacrosse provides a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for these young athletes to be able to compete on the world’s stage, on live national television, in one of the most famous outdoor stadiums in the country,” said Beninati. “It’s amazing to see how quickly the event has grown. This is not just an unbelievable experience for the two finalists, but for all of the teams that are invited to Denver to compete for a World Championship.”
About the WSYL
The World Series of Youth Lacrosse was created in 2015 to provide the ultimate lacrosse experience for young athletes. The WSYL was founded by Jake Steinfeld, founder of Major League Lacrosse, along with his partners Ray Schulmeyer, Steve Bornstein, Dave Morrow, and Mac Freeman. Teams in the US advance to the WSYL Championship Series in Denver through a series of regional qualifier throughout the country. In addition, a select group of international teams receive invitations to compete in the Championship Series which culminates in the WSYL Championship Game on the Fourth of July where the winning team gets to hoist the Warrior World Series of Youth Lacrosse Championship Trophy. The events are made possible through strategic partnerships which include The Coca-Cola Company, Nissan, Warrior, MET-Rx, Midas, Wheels-Up and the Denver Outlaws.
